The Black & Brown Coalition of North Carolina (BBCNC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and empowerment of African and Mexican American communities. We bring together concerned businesses, organizations, and agencies to promote self-preservation and uplift people of color in our region.

The Black & Brown Coalition of North Carolina was founded in 2024 by Beatris Rosas who saw a need for social equity and justice in our community for people of color, mainly, African and Mexican Americans, victims of police brutality and law enforcement's discriminatory practices.
To promote the self-preservation of the Black & Brown Community amongst Wilson, Nash, Edgecombe, and Durham County residents through community-wide collaboration and communication.
A united effort to improve the “Quality of Life (QoL),” ultimately, the Betterment of the Black & Brown Community.
Business solutions for the Black & Brown Community to help start-ups and established businesses, including Real Estate and Wealth Management investment strategies.
Civilian Police Review Board (CPRB) composed of residents from Wilson, Nash, Edgecombe, and Durham Counties without connections to law enforcement.
Bystander Prevention Programs bringing awareness to the community about the effects of Police Brutality in marginalized communities disproportionately impacted by discriminatory practices in policing.
Expungement Programs designed to assist people of color, particularly African and Mexican American individuals, who have been disproportionately affected by discriminatory policing practices in Nash, Wilson, Edgecombe, and Durham Counties.
Our Immigration Management Program aims to provide essential support for detainees or deported individuals and their families who have been profoundly impacted by PROJECT 2025 and Trump's policies. We are dedicated to advocating for their rights and facilitating paths toward reunification and stability.

These essential resources can assist with rent and utility payments, as well as provide access to food and clothing. Families who are experiencing poor living conditions, such as infestations due to mismanagement and maintenance issues, can benefit from this support. Together, we can uplift the Black and Brown community and work toward a brighter future for all our families.
Kiity Genovese was a woman of Italian descent and a lesbian living in Kew Gardens, Queens—a predominantly Black and Brown community—her story highlights the painful realities of the Bystander Effect and racial bias in policing. Recent studies have revealed the impact of historical and systemic racism, illustrating how unconscious biases can shape responses to emergencies. In light of this, we are dedicated to providing resources for transitional housing and culturally specific violence prevention programs for minorities, and people of color, particularly supporting the Black & Brown communities. Together, we can work towards a safer and more compassionate community.
Trump's PROJECT 2025 targets the most vulnerable in our community by criminalizing unhoused individuals. In response, we are dedicated to providing crucial support to those individuals and their families who have been severely impacted by these harmful policies. We stand together to uplift those affected and advocate for a more compassionate approach.
